DELL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE REVIEWS.
Dell customer experience reviews have really tanked over the last few years and by so much we felt the need to share it with our high-tech community.
Now we think it’s only fair that we make this list of complaints from other dell customers from all the most respected online reviewers’ web portals starting with BBB NORTH AMERICA.
It is interesting that BBB gives Dell an A+ rating but interestingly they don’t give this score by customer reviews at all which on the face of it dell must be happy as larry about.
We have left the grammar intact which the search engines will have kittens about but we don’t want to be accused of editing Dell Disputes sources now do we.
More lists will be added soon but in fairness, it is very difficult to find any 5-star reviews, if you have your own add it to the comments below, please.
Promised a refund they kept my money $1800 down the drain on a monitor they wont refund me for
Review fromChirag P
Like everyone, I had worst experience as well. I sent laptop via *** to Dell with Dell sent return parcel label. *** lost my laptop in transit to DELL , Dell didn’t received laptop at all. Since I purchased laptop from ******* opened case with conceirge services, Dell responded to me that they haven’t received my laptop so they can send me Refurbished laptop against my new laptop but they can’t issue new laptop or refund. Why the f… I accept Refurbished laptop against my new laptop first ? Second, they didn’t even bother to open dispute case with *** and asking me to open the f….g case , why should I ? It’s Dell return label and *** lost it, it’s God **** their responsibility to follow up and provide services to the customers which they flase claim that responsible to provide excellent customer service. I personally urge every customers to Boycott this cheaters scammers who misleading customers with their wrong and pathetic customer service Slogan and garbage products.

Just like what everyone else is saying. Dell has turned into one of the worst companies you can buy a computer from. Tried to purchase Alienware R14 computer delays in shipping due to parts shortages, they are selling computers they dont have the parts for. The order was eventually cancelled however I was still charged for a computer I dont have.

We are attempting to use Dell Gift Cards that were purchased for us for a purchase both online and over the phone. They have indicated that we can only use 3 forms of payment at one time; however, we have 6 gift cards that we are trying to use. How can they indicated I can only use two of the gift cards and then the third form of payment must be my credit card. Don’t ask anyone to ever get you a gift card from Dell, if you ask for it from numerous people and you try to use them for a purchase, you can only use two.
Review fromAndy S
Laptop is great, but they won’t stop calling me even though I’ve opted out of calls!
Review fromKatherine K
We had an awful experience attempting to contact anyone from Dell in regards to an issue we had with a return. They could not be reached via email, chat, nor ********* I called numerous times- at different times, over the course of three days. I finally reached a real person who advised me they wouldn’t help me and then proceeded to hang up on me when I said I was filing a complaint with the BBB. Absolutely awful that this company is allowed to treat customers this way. They should he ashamed of themselves. Their website is very confusing and difficult to navigate. We as a business and personal use have purchased multiple Dell computers- but after this experience we will never purchase another Dell product and we will also be advising all friends and family to not purchase either. I hope the BBB reads these comments and attempts to mediate the issues we all seem to have.

I have purchased the “first class” service which is a next day ***************.But, never was able to utilize it. Dell’s current workforce (technicians on the field) is a collection of low IQ people. They are not able to show up at the site, not even able to leave a voice message to customer to coordinate appointment, leave their tools at a previous customer, unprofessional conduct, etc. I am talking about non-technical issues. Just to engage with customer, show up at the location, follow up with issues and so on. The question is how I can trust my expansive laptop to this folks? The bar for the service is so low that even dimmest mice can sneak in.
Review fromAlberto S
Dell is one of the worst companies from who you will ever buy a computer if you ever need technical assistance for software. If you request technical support, they will rout you to someone that speaks English as a 3rd language and has little or no technical expertise. After the escalate you (inevitable) you will be treated like dirt in return for your $1000+ purchase and left hanging. I will never do business with Dell ever again. Don’t buy Dell!
Review fromJake G
Placed an order for a gaming pc selected from their advertised sale online. Ordered it as is no modifications. 2 days before arrival I was notified that they pushed the arrival date a month out. I was given the reason that it’s a custom build(which it wasn’t) and that they don’t start building it until the order is placed (was never started) . It already had a 3 1/2 week expected delivery date and sat in the confirmation state for 3 1/2 weeks. Only solution offered was to make it an actual custom build and get something less than what I had ordered.
Review fromKyle N
Recently ordered a laptop and upon arrival discovered it was damaged from the factory. I attempted to reach out to customer service and there solution was for me to drive 45 minutes to ****** ship original Laptop back, and wait 8 business days for a new one. After expressing my frustration and the fact that I needed this Laptop at that moment I was provided with the solution to use the laptop until I receive the new one. Unfortunately my time is to valuable to download all my systems on a program just to need to do it again in 8 business days. After going back and forth I was finally provided a credit of 80 dollars and I am stuck with a broke computer. I will never purchase from Dell again and I warn any small business owner to avoid at all cost.
Review fromMrinalini B
Worst customer service. untill I made the purchase I was assisted well and after placing the order when I had to use the rewards and gift card it was so hard to get them to place the order for me. Initially I was told that I can do it all and they have kept me on line for hours and my issue is not resolved yet. The worst service till date.

These people must be some of the dumbest people on the planet. They are always late, I had to hire someone to wait at the house for them to come do my service and they didnt come, its been 15 days now that I’ve been trying to schedule a tech to come and do a simple fan repair I could do myself. The only reason I’m dealing with these morons is because dell has a very touchy warranty and limited supply of parts that they are very stingy with. I’m starting to feel like I’d rather buy a new computer than deal with these boneheads. Never had this problem with ASUS ROG. Also, 90% of the employees barely speak english and/or are super rude. UPDATE: I talked to a tech that was supposed to come today, and they somehow put in the wrong address that was in Fayetteville and not *********. So they cancelled without notifying me AGAIN!! NOW I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER 3-5 DAYS AND IVE ALREADY DRIVEN MY FRIENDS BACK AND FORTH 60 MILES TO WAIT AT MY HOUSE PAY THEM $60 TO WAIT FOR THIS CRETIN AND TAKEN A HALF DAY OFF WORK FOR HIM TO NEVER SHOW UP. NOW I CANT EVEN GET TO THE COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT EITHER BECAUSE THEY HAVE A HIGH CALL VOLUME FIGURES!!!
Review fromDerrick L
WORST customer service EVER! I receive better customer service from someone in retail than I do from Dell. I pay for Dell extended warranty services and they do not honor their own warranty and want me to purchase a new device or replacement for something that is faulty with their Dell XPS 13 (2-in-1) machine. I can understand if they did not honor their warranty if there was modification to the laptop, but this machine is completely 100% stock. They also state that a swollen battery for this Dell XPS 13 is not a safety issue and thing to do is to completely stop using this laptop and buy a new one. STAY AWAY FROM DELL PRODUCTS!!!
Review fromChris C.
WORST CUSTOMER SERICE AND SUPPORT FOR OVERPRICED, UNDERPERFORMING GAMING COMPUTERS.We will never purchase another product from this company. My son (who has disabilities) saved for over ayear to purchase a gaming computer (Alienware Aurora Rio) and it came with a 12 month warranty ($3,500.00). At 13 months, it died. DEAD, nothing he can do to fix it. Dell customer support told him they could not help him and that he could buy some support information. Are you kidding me?! Buy? You sold a $3,500.00 computer and at 13 months you offer no advise, no support until my son pays you?! You are the lowest of lows when it comes to customer service and support. You are a disgrace to deal with and your products are substandard – which is why you don’t stand behind them.
Review fromBob W
Horrible company. Brought a laptop that had problems the first week of purchase and 2 years later, was never resolved. Horrible service, cheap quality. NEVER BUY
Review fromKelly W
I work for company that pays for Dell support. I tried to get a computer replaced. Every time I called I got transferred or hung up on. Mind you I am female and I work in the IT department. I had to get a male lead to talk to some one to get the ** replaced. Sexism is alive and well in the Dell support. I am not happy. It took over a week to get this taken care of. When a man can turn around and do it in one day. I am so angry I can’t even speak. I wish I could give less than one star because they deserve it.
Review fromHarrison T
Dont buy a dell. The computers will start to “act strangely” after the warranty ends. Their customer service will also sell you a premium warranty without telling you that it doesnt cover battery or hard drive issues. It is a real trash company, with trash support, and their computers will c*** out on you. Also, lol, A+ accreddited on BBB with a **** rating from customers. Poetry.
Review fromLouis T
Bought *** 13 **** and within two weeks it froze twice on the *** screen and required wiping all data and factory reset. Got a replacement and it did the same thing in two days. Dell going down hill fast. Should be out of business soon.
Review fromHeather L
This business loves giving customers the run-around and make them go through h*** in order to replace something that is covered. I had the accidental damage 3 year plan and it is still valid. I had to go through 2 agents & 1.5 hours of chat back and forth in order to get the replacement I was entitled to through the plan I paid extra for. For an item that probably cost them $3 to make, they make the customer jump through hoops. I had to send them 4 photographs of information that they already have in their system. It’s definitely not okay.Side note; They also do not include wifi automatically in their setups. My mind was blown over this being it was ordered in 2021. Wifi capabilities must be ordered separately.

Bought a laptop directly from dell. it is now 1 year old according to Dell the warranty started before we received the product and so it is put of warranty and they are demanding more money to use it because they won’t even email me the software that I paid for when we bought it. I have to pay $100 if I want it so apparently ypu are only renting it for a year then you have to pay again. On my first call to them they wouldn’t even let me speak before they transfered me to out of warranty then the out of warranty said it should be covered so he transferred me back to warranty which then said not in warranty and hung up on me this took 30 min had to call back. The next lady said she would have a manager look at it and call me back. He called told me if it was one minute over on year they would not help without more money paid to them. Worst customer service I have ever heard of. Ypu don’t get a year warranty since shipping could take a week or more your warranty already started. Never buy dell.
Review fromDaniel G.
Do not buy from Dell. Very bad customer service. Can not talk with anyone need to go through all kinds of automated calls before you ,get a real live person. And then they say they will get back to you and they do not. This was afterchatting and about 10 phone calls.

Id give 0 stars but doesnt go that low. Theres no customer service

My computer froze while working on it and had to be rebooted. After the computer came back on, the internet drivers were gone and I could no longer connect to the internet.I call Dell Technical support for assistance. Once I called they said sure we can help you with that. The technician told me to restart the computer to get into the automatic repair tool. Ok, so next it asked for a BitLocker code. I looked that up on my ********* account and tried to put it in, but now it throws and error and reboots into the same process again. So after being told they could help, they locked my computer up completely and than the gentleman says oh we can only help once you pay.Prior to calling Dell I was on my computer and able to access my files and data. But after they do this I can no longer do that and can only get back to where I was if I pay? And Im stuck in a cycle of blue screens? So you locked me out from MY computer and MY data and the only way I can get it is if I pay?! Excuse me, but what kind of business model and customer service is this. So I ask to talk to a supervisor. Well they cant connect you to a supervisor and you have to wait for a callback. Meanwhile everyone you talk to is foreign and English is not their first language and there are huge discrepancies of what appropriate customer treatment is this.I need someone from corporate to call and resolve this, conduct some training etc. THIS is NOT OK! You can not just lock me out of my own computer and than request payment to help. If I would have known this I would have downloaded all my data and just moved my business elsewhere.
Last discussion with supervisor: He told my husband a tech would call back today or tomorrow and hung up on him. 3 hrs later, no technician call back.
4 hrs later and still no tech call back. Scheduled an appointment with Best Buy Geek Squad tomorrow. Taking business elsewhere. Dell customer service is atrocious and they are only money driven, once they have the money they could care less. Spent over $5000 with Dell in the last two years this was the last time.

If I could give Alienware 0 stars, I would. Where do I start is the real question. I have gone through countless laptops, both the R2 and R5. The R2 got so hot that you could barely touch the keys without literally burning your fingers. Blue screens happened daily so I returned every device I had. Thinking that the *** R5 model would be a better machine and oh boy was I wrong. This thing was a trainwreck from the start. The Mifi LAN card failed repeated and made it to where I had to connect an Ethernet cable in order to access the wifi. So I returned that as well. After trying 4 R5’s, I realized that not only tech support is worthless but these machines are absolutely the worst gaming laptops you can buy. Trust me on this folks, stay far away from Alienware.
Review fromJessica L
Terrible product, terrible customer service. My ********************** broke twice, took forever on the phone to get help (hours). First time, it was under warranty and they fixed it after seven hours on the phone. The motherboard they replaced went out 10 months later; I had to pay $158 to get it fixed. Got the computer back and the problem is still there, and they won’t refund my money. I removed the hard drive and recycled the computer. You couldn’t pay me $25,000 to use another Dell computer; not worth the stress.
Review fromWilliam G
Company is honestly a joke. Spent over $4000 on a gaming desktop and paid extra for their extended warranty for so called “world class support” claiming to be available for tech support over the phone 24/7. Called the number on their and got routed to someone in ***** only to have them transfer me around for 20 minutes to other buffoons all located in ***** all to result in the last guy telling me that the only tech support department that can help me is open only on certain hours. Worthless “premium” support.
Review fromChristopher M.
Completely redid **************** in Dell 3 years ago. Called to purchase the extended warranty but refuse to allow me to speak to anyone but an assigned rep. for a price. Are there different prices for different customers on the same product? Obviously. They wont quote me over the phone or online. It seem to me theres prejudice behind the scenes. Moral is. Dont trust Dell.

This complaint is for Dell Tech Support. It is terrible! I have been PC tech support for Dell in the past and now they are all kids in *****. Right away they wanted to take control of my pc. I fixed the problem in less than 5 minutes myself. Perfect now. 85% of scamming calls come from *****. True statistic from U.S. and **** Governments. Don’t trust calls from some young person at his home, not at work who can’t do tech support at all. It was very easy to fix. Just wanted to try 4 year tech support to see if they knew before I tried. Waste of time! I called back about 8 times and every case was some child at home. They have no skills. I will never buy support for a Dell Computer again. I like my XPS-****. I had XPS laptop since 2011. They ship Windows 10 and during install it asks if you want free upgrade to Windows 11. Don’t do it! Windows 11 is beta version. Horrible.Going to format C: partition and put original image file of windows 10 back on. Their tech support is totally disorganized. The online program is all that is available for any tech support. I CAN NOT GET ONE PERSON IN ***** ON THE ***** FOR ANY CALL. EVEN NON TECH SUPPORT. THEY ARE ALL DIVERTED TO LONE ****** YOUNG KIDS WHO KNOW FAR LESS THAN I KNOW. I WOULD RECOMMEND NOT TO BUY ANY DELL. MOST PEOPLE DON’T HAVE MY PC SKILLS AND NEED ***** SUPPORT. IT IS NON EXISTANT AT DELL AND NO MATTER WHAT YOU TRY, I TRIED EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO GET SOMEONE IN ***** OR ***********…..I WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME. WHEN I ASKED ** FOR COMPLAINT HELP IT HUNG UP THE ***** ON ME 3 TIMES! AFTER TAKING DOWN MY EXPRESS CODE. THEY SAID OFFICES ARE CLOSED FOR ALL ***** NUMBERS. Once you put in tech support request it takes being a detective to get past being sent to ****** “support.” every time. I have my hacking tricks and got salespersons, etc. phone numbers. All of them are always closed. Is there zero stars? Their tech support is Negative 5.

Deceptive Billing Practices:I called in August to cancel my subscription plan. They called me back and told me that it was cancelled but billed me again in August. I called back on September 13th and they stated that the subscription was cancelled but it was after the billing cycle so I would get charged again. On Sept 29 they called again and stated that the subscription was cancelled but again since it was after the billing cycle, I got charged again. Today, October 14th I received a statement stating that my subscription was cancelled on October 13th but AGAIN it missed the billing cycle and got charged again.

For two days, I have tried to purchase an Alienware laptop, and a Netgear router for my daughter as a reward she earned. I have not been lied to misled and disrespected as much as I was by ****** in the past 12 hours of dealing with them. They charged my **** debit card for $2756.04, and then they charged my MasterCard for $2756.04. They deny that they charged my debit card even though I bank official phone them provided them with the transaction number provided them with a picture of the fee. But because she wanted an Alienware I persisted and did order one with the full knowledge that it had to be here before the 21st, I was promised confirmed that it would be. A few hours later I got a sheeps phone call from one of the attendance telling me he had sent me the confirmation. I asked if it was the same confirmation that he had given me for hours earlier, and all I got was a bunch of mumbling . When I checked the latest confirmation, they had switched the delivery date from the 21st to the 24th and try to sneak it by me. I cannot believe that dell and Alienware has deteriorated to such deplorable treatment of customers and they need to steal their money so anyone reading this please take heed . This is not the company that ******* Dell built it on.
They continue to harass me calling me every four hours saying that theyve escalated my inquiry/complaint, no definitive answers no timeline and they just keep asking for me to give them a few more days

This purchase has been one of the worst! We purchased an expensive gaming laptop for our daughter, spending about double what we had planned for and she contributed a large amount of her summer job money, for her to take for her freshman year of college. After one month, the gaming capabilities (video) shut down. We contacted Dell and after several calls, it was agreed that the issue could not be repaired remotely and she had to ship the computer to their repair depot. From this point on, we had to rent and make other arrangements for much of the year for her to attend her virtual classes since every repair resulted in a new issue that previously had not existed. It was returned to us with a defective screen, a nonfunctional camera, a more defective screen, and a nonfunctional keyboard. It spent more time in their repair depots and in shipping than the time she could use it for her classes! One month after our warranty expired, the camera stopped working again. At her age, she should be developing lifetime brand loyalty but I am certain that no one in our family will ever buy a Dell again!!

Bought a new Dell in 2022. Had some Web camera issues and the chat room guy tried upselling me service program while my computer is under warranty.

Awful experience from start to as of yet finish. The worst staff at every department. No help. The computer was stuck in customs because they forgot to fill out paperwork. So what was supposed to take 5 business days or less was about a month. The new XPS laptop was hot garbage. Literally, on use the thing would heat up to temperatures so high it would leave marks if you had it on your lap. Then the whole thing crashed. Blue screen. I returned it for a full refund that has never happened. They keep assuring me just another 3-5 business days and it has been escalated. I started this return on August 26 and its currently October 11th. Horrible company, horrible service, and a horrible product. I may have to *** in small claims court to get my money back at this point. Never, never, never buy a Dell especially directly from them. About as two bit as a multi billion dollar multinational company can get.
Review fromJessa L
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!If you’re expecting to get your Laptop serviced by their premium support technicians be prepared to wait 2 months and then have them miraculously complete the service request without even showing up to your home. You’re better off getting TotalTech from Best Buy, at least you’ll know someone will actually look at your device. Even after complaining about how nothing was done, Dell has not reached out to me to correct the issue. They then sent me a survey asking how my experience was with Dell *************** to which I wrote the above review, and I received a reply: “anonymous, Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!”So not only did they read the review but decided not to publish it because it paints them in a poor light. Shady business, untrustworthy, and unable to provide excellent customer service. If I could return my 4k laptop I would, but I know for next time never to do business with them again and will advise for everyone to do the same.

I am so frustrated with Dell. I paid the extra money for on-site service. Unfortunately, I am going on 10 days and counting without any tech coming to fix my computer. Like many of you, I rely on my Dell laptop to run my business.I have sent multiple e-mails to no avail. They had the audacity today to send me an e-mail telling me they were escalating my issue. That doesnt make my computer functional for my business.I have always liked my Dell products. Right now, I am seriously considering every buying a Dell product. Buyer beware!

In June 2021 I purchased a Dell Inspiron 15 ****, and I have had trouble with it ever since. About 6 months into owning the computer, I got the first ****, the error code was that no boot drive was found, and I lost all of my files that were not on OneDrive. Last month I got another **** with an error code that the memory crashed. I wondered if there were simply some drivers or updates missing, so I reset the computer to factory, and then just last week I got the **** again, this time saying that there was a HyperVisor error. The *** usage will randomly spike to 100% and the computer will crash. I am not running processor or memory intensive software, just MS **** and MS ***** I will not be purchasing a Dell computer again, and I regret buying the one I have.

Dell is the WORST company ever. I purchased a computer Aug 31st, 2022 and today, Sept 23, I still have not received it. I spent $1,200 and was promised it by September 7th. Dell claimed they shipped my computer, however Purolator has not even recieved the package. I have called Dell 7 separate times, emailed 6 and have only heard from a representative once, in which they made promises that were not kept. I called as was hung up on multiple times, I was told I should receive email responses within a few hours and DAYS later I heard nothing and had to call to speak to a representative who could not help me in any way, yet again. I have recieved zero compensation for this and it has caused me to be out of work for 3 weeks. Don’t EVER SUPPORT DELL. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER AND THEY GIVE EMPTY PROMISES!!!!!!
