DELL 1-YEAR ON-SITE WARRANTY COMPLAINTS.
Dell’s 1-year on-site warranty complaints are at an all-time high and mainly for this bizarre of reasons, the replacement device’s remaining warranty life.
So, say you are the owner of a faulty Dell-manufactured device, and say you report it right away after receiving it or even longer into its ownership Dell may dither and wander around for months or even years before they get around to fixing it.
This means when they come to eventually fixing it or replacing it they only give you what’s remaining on your original warranty which in turn means the longer they wait to fix the goods the less liability they may face going forward if another fault develops in that time frame.
We think this is unfair-contract terms and we are going to challenge it on the FREE resolver service here in the UK if Dell does not capitulate for the following reason.
The device in question was a DOA and reported as such on day 2 of ownership but it took Dell 14 weeks to then replace the device like for like.
Therefore why should any customer lose 14 weeks’ worth of warranty for something that is their fault?
